Woodwork magazine published a 9-page article about Shinrin Takumi Juku in its December 2003 issue.  Professor Wendy Maruyama of San Diego State University wrote this article to introduce our school's history, educational policies, curriculum, and various activities.  Shinrin Takumi Juku and the Furniture Design/Woodworking program at San Diego State University, which is headed by Prof. Maruyama, have established close relationship since Prof. Maruyama visited our school in 1996 when she was on Japan/US Fellowship.  Prof. Maruyama visited us again in 2000, and we planned an exchange program between two schools.  In 2001, we exchanged woodworking students in summer and fall.  This article includes her third visit to our school in April 2002, where she saw our new school buildings and studios built in 2001 and work of our students.  The article also mentions Oak Village, a woodworking company that we work with as a part of Oak Group, and her meeting with Mr. Inamoto, the president of Oak Village.  The article ends with an introduction of a famous local festival, Takayama Festival, famous for its elaborate floats.
